WGN-TV 9 (Ind., now The CW)

The first occurrence took place during WGN-TV’s newscast. During Bears highlights, the hijacker, who was wearing the aforementioned Max Headroom mask and was sitting or standing in front of a sheet of metal, interrupted the station’s signal. There was no audio, and the hijack lasted for about 30 seconds before WGN-TV changed the STL frequency.

WTTW 11 (PBS)

Later that night, WTTW, Chicago’s PBS member station, was hijacked by the same person(s) during an episode of Doctor Who. This time, there was audio. Here is a transcript of this occurrence:

WTTW was unable to stop the hijacker, because there were no engineers on duty at the transmitter at the time.

There have been no confirmed instances of broadcast signal intrusion in the US since then.

Interestingly, whoever did it has not been caught, and it has been 21 years.

I am currently looking for another Web host.

What makes this difficult is that I can’t afford the money-cost variety of Web hosting, and finding a decent free Web host is difficult. For me to consider a free Web host “decent”, it must meet the following:

• No advertisements — It cannot insert anything into the pages. This causes problems, such as invalid HTML.
• It must offer PHP and MySQL. Without PHP and MySQL, I cannot install WordPress. </obvious>
• It must support .htaccess files for the “pretty” permalinks.
• It must be able to communicate with outside servers for such things as pingbacks and certain plugins (e.g., Akismet, Twitter Tools, WordPress.com Stats) to work.

I have created this blog at WordPress.com and imported my posts in case I do decide to move back here. If you have any suggestions for free Web hosts that meet the above, you may comment.

Anyway, I found this on a forum somewhere. Apparently, adding the phrase “in bed” to the end of a slogan makes it funnier.
